Something I’ve noticed lately: So many people are addicted to negativity.
It’s a real thing. The same part of the brain that seeks out pleasure also seeks out the pain.
They are addicted to being the victim.
They are addicted to finding faults with most things, people, and circumstances.
They are addicted to finding a negative comment to create content about or to talk to a friend about.
They are addicted to negative self-talk.
They find problems in their life to reaffirm their addiction.
Consistently choosing negative thoughts contributes to a negative experience.
There’s so much negativity happening in the world right now, and on top of that, there are always going to be personal struggles. I don’t know anyone who isn’t struggling with something right now. My life isn’t perfect, but I have the choice to make a conscious choice to choose where I put my energy and focus.
I don’t think you automatically have to start thinking positive thoughts (because it’s not realistic). I think you need to observe your thoughts, become self-aware of your negative thoughts, and become more conscious. Separate thoughts from facts.
Changing our thoughts changes how we feel.
Challenging or negative experiences can also be learning experiences.
They can help us learn more about ourselves, about other people, about the rest of the world.
At the end of the day, it’s your life and your narrative.
The way you think has everything to do with your life, and you can change that.
There is so much good in this world. You just have to look for it.
