Why you should eat more fermented foods

Fermentation is the reaction that takes place when bacteria or yeast is used to break down a food. This process encourages essential “good bacteria” to flourish.

What does this mean for you?

These “good bacteria” aka probiotics promote a healthy balance of bacteria to optimize our immune system and digestive health. Since the bacteria pre-digest some of the sugar and the starches in the food, this also makes it easier for us to digest and can enhance nutrient absorption.

Kombucha and sauerkraut are my favourites.
