I want to start off by saying that adding a little bit of muscle to your physique isn’t going to make you look “bulky”. I personally think that the amount of fat you carry over top of the muscle will determine whether or not you look “bulky”.
The benefits of increasing the amount of skeletal muscle you have are numerous! Aside from increased self-confidence, you can experience increased strength (making everyday tasks a lot easier), stronger bones, tendons and ligaments (meaning less chance of injury) and an increased metabolism (meaning you will burn more calories throughout the day). It is important to remember that muscle isn’t going to come over night.
I often get asked, “How long did it take you to see results? What did you look like before?” Yet these answers are negligible to your journey because there are so many other variables (genetics, nutrition, training intensity, rest and recovery etc) that make up the big picture.
Stay focused on your journey and keep working to be the best version of yourself.
