Nasal Breathing – Do you pay attention to it?

Most of us know that consuming calories in excess can cause metabolic damage (due to producing more free radicals within the body) – but most people don’t realize that excess oxygen can do the same thing.

Chronic mouth-breathing is a huge contributor to poor health (constant sighing/yawning/snoring/mouth breathing etc). Overbreathing limits your body’s ability to oxygenate which can lead to reduced blood flow to your major organs and muscles.

Basically when you breathe through your nose, you increase the amount of carbon dioxide inside of you – which means more oxygen to your organs and muscles, a critical component to optimal health.

I can’t stress how important simple nasal breathing exercises like this and being more mindful of your breathing daily is to your health.
