For some people – stepping on the scale can be a great way to stay motivated on their weight loss journey, but for others – it can become an obsession.
I’m at a point in my life where my mind, body and soul doesn’t care about what the scale has to say.
If I step on the scale, will I be happier if I’m a certain weight? If I’m heavier than I was expecting, will I become stressed?
It is important to remember that a number should NOT determine how you feel about yourself!
If you didn’t know – chronically elevated levels of cortisol and stress correlates with weight gain.
Our body’s naturally produce cortisol in response to stress, which is why it is commonly known as your body’s “stress hormone“.
This hormone plays an important role in many of your body’s functions, but too much circulating within the body can lead to things like increased belly fat and hunger.
Personally, I just want to be healthy.
I know I am always making progress because I nourish my body with things that are good for my mind, body and soul! I am happy with where I am at and I use things like my energy levels, how my clothes fit, how well I’m sleeping, and how I feel emotionally to gauge my physical progress.
