I was having lunch with a girlfriend today and she watched me eat the skin of my salmon, gave me this weird look and said “ew, you eat the skin?”

Haha I told her why, so I figured I would relay the message!

Why do I eat the skin?

Salmon skin contains high concentrations of omega-3 fatty acids (anti-inflammatory agents) that are necessary for brain function and overall health! Not only is the skin packed with essential fatty acids, but it is loaded with vitamin D, vitamin B12, essential minerals, proteins and amino acids!

Eating the skin is an excellent way to meet your recommended daily omega 3 intake which will essentially enhance your body’s anti-inflammatory capability!
